Fic Recs!

So here is the first draft of what will become an ever-changing, long-lasting fic rec list! It’s all wolfstar, and I’ve sorted into short, medium and long stories. :D

Short:

Coming Around by rev02a
Rating: PG
Summary:
My Notes: Read this, read this, read this. It’s short, but it’s so beautiful. Told from James’ perspective, which I love. James sees for the first time the love that his two best friends share. It absolutely makes my heart melt to read this one.  

Trains by Kiwiana
Rating: PG-13
Summary: All the poignant moments of Remus Lupin’s life have been played out on a train. 
My Notes: This is absolutely gorgeous. This is one of my favorite stories. It highlights the important moments of Remus’ life that took place on a train. It’s beautiful and sad, but with a happy(ish?) ending.

Sirius Sun by andereaskn
Rating: PG-13 
Summary: All children, except one, grow up. It had been Remus’ favourite childhood story.
My Notes: This is written so beautifully, it is almost like a poem. It’s sad, it’s very sad and it doesn’t seem to get the recognition it deserves for being as beautiful and fantastic as it is. 

Bet On It by strictlybecca
Rating: PG-13
Summary: 
My Notes: This is lovely. Sirius is jealous, even though technically they are on a break. Jealous Sirius is so hot, especially in this fic. It’s short and sweet but a fun read and kind of adorable at parts.

Hell and Back by clovermews
Rating: T
Summary: There’s a werewolf registry and Remus is on it. 
Summary: I love stories like this. One’s where Sirius just tries to protect Remus from all the hurt and pain in the world. Remus needs this, needs someone like this in his life, and this is heart wrenching in parts. The author has amazing characterization, and I fall in love with Remus over and over again reading this. 

Firewhiskey and a First Kiss by I-Am-A-Marauder
Rating: T
Summary: Self-explanatory based on the title, I think :D
My Notes: I-Am-A-Marauder writes all sorts of fantastic little stories like this, so I encourage you to check them all out, but this one is super cute. Just like the title says, the boys drink some Firewhisky and end up kissing. That’s pretty much it.

Be Safe by akatsuki-chan
Rating: M
Summary: Sirius didn’t love him any more. The thought, there in the recesses of his mind for quite some time now, hit him like a brick to the temple.
My Notes: This is another really sad one. It takes place just before the Potter’s go into hiding, when Remus and Sirius’ relationship was strained the most. It’s really just a heartbreaking short piece.  

He Loves Me He Loves Me Not by Children of the Shadows
Rating: M
Summary: ‘Do you believe in love at fifty-second sight? The moment I saw you, I can’t explain it. I kept watching and watching, until I realized I’d been watching you for over a month and I can’t stop.’
My Notes: So this is so adorable. It starts off cute, gets a little bit hot, goes horribly, horribly sad, then ends adorably. Sirius is so over enthusiastic in this one (it seems to be a trend for this author) and it’s endearing.  

And Gravity, Scientists Say, Is Weak by Penknife
Rating: M
Summary: Sirius used to want everyone to look at him.
My Notes: Post-Azkaban. It looks at the way Sirius has changed from the happy, carefree boy he was to a man who’s lived lifetimes. It’s ridiculously sad, and another one that stuck with me for some time after I read it. There’s love in this though. Love that once again reminds me of the gorgeousness of Wolfstar. 

Sing My Heart by Persica
Rating: NC-17 
Summary: Some people press their memories between the pages of a scrapbook. Sirius has music. Sirius/Remus
My Notes: READ THIS This is my favorite wolfstar fic in the entire world. It is earth-shatteringly beautiful and sad, and the entire thing makes me want to cry. The sex at the end is gorgeous. It’s very angsty, but there is so much absolute, unequivocal love in this piece that it makes me want to curl into a ball and cry forever. It’s stories like this that remind me why I love Wolfstar so much.

Breaking the Routine by Mrs. Ron Weasley
Rating: NC-17
Summary: When Sirius goes to take a show, he has an encounter he did not expect. At least, not yet.
My Notes: Hot, hot, dear god, this is hot. You need an account for this site, but I assure you, it is absolutely worth it. There are so many hot NC-17 fics here, and this one is one of my favorites. The two boys work together so perfectly in it, and there is love in this as well, absolutely worth the read. 

Frission by Anon
Rating: NC-17
Summary: A very slutty and very needy bottom Remus.
My Notes: Hothothothothothothothothot. Needy Remus is needy and Sirius is more then happy to oblige. This is short, but very nicely written and just…. just super hot.

Medium:

A Kneeling Lover by deathjunke
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Enter Sirius Black: the most well known Dom in a ten-mile radius who just can’t for the life of him hold down a serious relationship. So he continues to have his random little flings until he meets the man of his horrifyingly vanilla dreams, Remus.
My Notes: I love dom Remus more then I would like to admit. Remus is a kind dom in this story though, and there is fantastic characterization and a good story line to go along with the smut. This is actually a favorite of mine and I did go on a wild search to try to find it again for this list.  
 

Long:

It Was Only A Kiss by remuslives23
Rating: M (But Really NC-17) 
Summary: It was all James Potter’s fault. If he hadn’t have nicked that bottle of Firewhiskey from his dad, Sirius and Remus would never have been left alone, drunk and horny in the Common Room and none of this would have happened. SLASH! 
My Notes: If you are only going to read one thing on this list, READ THIS. This story is absolutely wonderful and it kept me up night after night reading it. The characters are beautifully crafted, and the story is interesting and made me want to keep reading for hours on end. I’ve gone back to re-read certain chapters of this one multiple times, just because I can’t stop thinking about it. There is smut all the way through, but it’s important for it to be there (not to mention, super, super hot). It’s basically the story of Remus and Sirius’ sexual awakening, and I absolutely recommend reading it so, so much.  

Dating Remus Lupin by Children of the Shadows
Rating: M (But Really NC-17)
Summary: Remus Lupin is a mystery to the whole school; the boy who’s quiet, aloof, and cold. He also happens to be queer, which is enough to gain Sirius’ interest. What Sirius never realized is that dating Remus Lupin wasn’t quite as easy as it looked. R/S
My Notes: While parts of this story really turned me off (Sirius get a bit annoying sometimes) it’s made up for in Remus’ captivating background, which is revealed slowly through the entire story. It’s kind of interesting because in this story the two boys meet for the first time in their fifth year, so they aren’t great friends. It’s frustrating sometimes how little Remus’ responds to Sirius’ advancements, but it make the moments he does so much more rewarding. Overall, it’s pretty good.

Momentum by Children of The Shadows
Rating: M
Summary: An epic tale of Remus and Sirius’s lives, starting from the very beginning. A love that carries on through trials, tribulations, and war.
My Notes: Oh. My. God. I love this one. So much angst and love and death and sadness and everything that I love in a wolfstar fic. My only complain was how utterly awful Sirius was to Remus. It actually made me furious at one point, and I had to stop reading because I just couldn’t understand how my puppies could be so horrible to one another (though Remus is very rarely horrible to Sirius) there were multiple nights I just couldn’t put this down and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
